HAIR
1. Our hair grows about 1cm every month and we
lose between 20 to 50 hair strands in a day
2. Normally, a human head has 100,000 to
125000 hairs. Once a hair is plucked, another one
starts growing.
3. No hair lasts more than 6years.
4. Human hair grows faster in warm weather than
cold weather.
4. Graying of hair occurs when production of
melanin decreases or stop.
BONES
1. Babies are born with 300 bones and by
adulthood, it decreases to 206 as many join
together to make a single one.
2. We are about 1cm taller in the morning than
evening because during the day, the cartilage in
the knees and other areas slowly compress. They
become normal after body gets rest during sleep.
3. The thigh bone is the longest bone in the body.
4. The hardest bone in the body is the jawbone.
SKIN
1. It is the largest organ in the body.
2. A normal human skin loses 30 000 to 40 000
dead skin cells every minute. By age 70, an
average person usually loses about 50kg of the
skin.
3. You can sweat up to 3 litres of sweat on a hot
day.
4. Skin does not cause body odour, it is caused by
bacteria on the skin eating and digesting the fatty
compounds secretion.
MUSCLES
1. A normal human has about 650 muscles.
2. The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.
3. There are about 60 muscles in the face.
4. It is easy to smile than to frown.
5. It takes 17 muscles to smile and 43 muscles to
frown.
6. The biggest muscle in the body is in the
buttock.
7. The smallest muscle is in the ear, 5mm long
and thinner than cotton thread.
